Honkai Star Rail 2.4 Character Leaks: Jiaoqiu May Be The Most Important 5-Star In The Update (2024)

New Honkai: Star Rail 2.4 leaks about Jiaoqiu seem to indicate that he will be the most important 5-star character in the update. Version 2.4 is still weeks away seeing that Version 2.3 has just started, but the three new playable characters in the next patch have already been confirmed. Jiaoqiu and Yunli are the confirmed 5-star characters for the upcoming content, while the previously leaked new March 7th form in Honkai: Star Rail has been confirmed as a new 4-star addition. Very few details about them have been revealed so far, but leaks are starting to spread.

Because Version 2.4 is going through beta tests, a lot of information about the patch is being shared, including character leaks. Now, information obtained by the leaker known as HomDGCat, which was shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” on Reddit, dives into the gameplay kits for all three characters and, among them, Jiaoqiu stands out. Jiaoqiu is a Fire Nihility character and, based on his leaked gameplay skills, he may be an indispensable asset for certain team comps. According to the leaked information, Jiaoqiu can apply debuffs that increase the damage enemies receive in Honkai: Star Rail.

Acheron May See Great Benefits By Having The New Character On Her Team

From what is described in the leak, the debuff Jiaoqiu uses is called Ashen Roast. The initial stack of this debuff increases the DMG enemies receive by 15%, with each subsequent stack increasing that DMG by 5%, up to five stacks. If the leaks are true, Jiaoqiu will be able to contribute to the team’s debuff count and also boost the power of their team by making enemies more vulnerable. Another noteworthy aspect of Jiaoqiu’s leaked kit in Honkai: Star Rail is how his Ultimate will allegedly work.

The leak mentions that his Ultimate increases the Ashen Roast stacks to the highest number of stacks present and creates a field that deals Fire DMG to all enemies. Additionally, enemies inside the field take 15% increased Ultimate DMG, with a 60% of getting inflicted with an Ashen Roast stack when taking action. This could mean that players can stack up the effects of the Ultimate field with the Ashen Roast stacks and make opponents extremely vulnerable to Ultimate DMG. This will, most likely, be one of the best party members for Acheron’s team comps in Honkai: Star Rail.

Acheron charges her Ultimate whenever debuffs are applied on the field and Jiaoqiu’s Ashen Roast stacks can accelerate her Ultimate’s availability. On top of that, the leak indicates that Jiaoqiu can set the field for Acheron to destroy opponents with her Ultimate since they will all be taking increased DMG and increased Ultimate DMG. At the moment, Acheron has solid team comps. However, Jiaoqiu could possibly substitute Pela, a 4-star character who focuses on reducing opponents’ DEF stat but does not contribute too much with damage of her own.

For now, the leaks about Version 2.4 characters are still early and should be considered with caution, as a lot can be subject to change – especially when it comes to certain percentages and how skills work. Nevertheless, what was leaked about Jiaoqiu so far seems promising, and for players who use Acheron as their main DPS, he may be an indispensable new character in Honkai: Star Rail 2.4.
