    On the menu

There are a couple of mouthwatering but pricey options on sale here.

One is a seafood-stuffed potato, which comes in at more than $50 when taxes are added.

And then there's surf and turf nachos with steak and lobster. These are more than $60 with taxes - but come with a shot glass!

    Let it burn

Every seat in the stadium has a lanyard with batteries in and a picture of Usher promoting the halftime show.

    OK... now I'm excited...

    Tight (end) spot

This game could come down to the battle of probably two of the three best tight ends the NFL has seen in this generation – along with Rob Gronkowski.

Travis Kelce is Patrick Mahomes’ favorite target and scored three touchdowns in two playoff games.

George Kittle provides Brock Purdy with the exact same safety blanket and has had the better year of the two.

The tight ends were put on the spot at opening night on Monday, and both were very complimentary of each other’s games.

    Generation game

Christian McCaffrey and Kyle Shanahan are both trying to follow in their fathers’ footsteps tonight.

Christian’s dad Ed was a wide receiver in the league and won three Super Bowls – with the San Francisco 49ers in 1995 and the Denver Broncos in 1998 and 1999.

Who was his coach? Kyle Shanahan’s dad Mike.

Mike Shanahan was offensive coordinator on the 1995 49ers team and head coach on the 1998 and 1999 Broncos side.

What an amazing full circle story it would be if McCaffrey and Shanahan are on the winning side.

Multiple NFL fans are weighing in after Taylor Swift arrived with her pals at the big game.

    Two-hour warning

We're just two hours from kickoff now at Allegiant Stadium.

The fans are filing in from their various pre-game parties and activities around this stadium.

It's an absolute picture in here. The temperature is perfect too inside - it's a little chilly outdoors but no such problems in here.

    Childhood pain

L’Jarius Sneed has overcome the odds to make it back to a second Super Bowl.

The Chiefs cornerback grew up in Minden, Louisiana with both of his parents in prison when he was a toddler.

In 2021 his oldest brother, who looked after him during those years, was shot dead in Minden as well.

Sneed missed the start of Super Bowl week for happier reasons – he attended the birth of his second child.

The 27-year-old has developed into a leader on and off the field for this Chiefs team.

    'Mr Irrelevant'

Has there ever been a Super Bowl starting quarterback more disrespected than Brock Purdy.

The 24-year-old hasn’t been able to shake the ‘Mr Irrelevant’ tag that was given to him after being pick 262 out of 262 in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Purdy earns just $870,000 a season, still lives in an apartment with a teammate and drives a Toyota.

This week he’s been asked about looking like a man who assassinated JFK, and if he’s ready to be a villain in Taylor Swift’s story.

    Chase is on

On that subject, San Francisco simply must get pressure on Patrick Mahomes tonight.

They can’t allow Mahomes to sit behind his offensive line for an age and dissect their secondary.

That makes Chase Young and Nick Bosa very important to San Francisco’s chances.

They’re up there with the most fearsome pass rush duos in recent years.

Tonight they’ll need to prove their talent on the biggest stage of them all and slow down Mahomes.

    How to stop Pat

Mahomes has only lost one of his previous three Super Bowls, against Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021.

The Bucs defence was dominant that day in a 31-9 victory, led superbly by Ndamukong Suh.

Suh spoke to us during the playoffs and revealed the secret to stopping Mahomes.

He said: "The secret was honestly sitting down with our coach Todd Bowles and just saying ‘coach, you’ve got to trust us.

"You’ve got to understand our front seven has an opportunity to take advantage of their front seven, their offensive line, their running backs and trust us to shut down the run.

"Trust us up front and then make sure you cover up and put our DBs in good positions so they’re always helping us take away the first option from Mahomes.

"Then it was on us to chase Mahomes down and get him to the ground and make him very uncomfortable and we had a lot of success in being able to do that."

    Great chase

OK, I've been talking for an hour now and haven't really mentioned this guy called Patrick Mahomes.

Mahomes is here for a fourth time in five years – he’s going for a third Super Bowl ring.

The 28-year-old is the youngest quarterback to play in four Super Bowls and ahead of Brady at this stage in his career in most statistics.

Will he make it to 10 Super Bowls and win seven rings like Brady did?

Mahomes said he’s got a long way to go, and “I’m not even halfway.” He also said, “ask me in 15 years.”

    Family business

History will be made in the media tonight as well as what may happen on the field.

Kevin Harlan and Olivia Harlan Dekker will become the first ever father and daughter duo to call a Super Bowl.

Kevin is on the radio call for listeners in America, and Olivia is a sideline reporter for Sky Sports in the United Kingdom.

Olivia, 30, moved to London with her husband Sam Dekker, who plays for the London Lions basketball team.

    Congratulations Kevin and Olivia.

Singing the national anthem is also quite the honor – and this year it will go to “the Queen of country” Reba McEntire.

He might have been upstaged by Taylor Swift – but Usher is set to put on a show at halftime today.

The music icon has spoken of the challenge of squeezing 30 years of music into 13 minutes.

    Global game

The Super Bowl really does capture the imagination of sports fans all over the world.

Fans will be tuning in from all corners of the globe tonight, at all hours.

It’s not just pubs and bars across America that are busy for this game.

London, where I’ve traveled from have plenty of watch parties going on, including at the Hard Rock Café in Piccadilly Circus.

Over a billion chicken wings will be eaten by Americans alone during the game.

I know plenty of people in London with a large appetite (myself included), so the global number will be a lot more than that.

    Posh seats

Luxury suites for this game are so expensive that even some players can’t afford them.

They’re going for upwards of $1 million and are expected to be populated by the likes of Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian.

One suite on the field level has a nightclub atmosphere, and another that’s going for $2.5 million comes with wagyu beef hotdogs and surf and turf nachos as standard.

    Inside the stadium

The venue for tonight’s game is the brand spanking new Allegiant Stadium.

It opened in 2020 at a cost of $2bn and is absolutely a venue fit for such an occasion.

I am one of the privileged 65,000 people in the stadium tonight for this showdown.

    Destination Vegas

From Sin City to a sporting capital – what a transformation for Las Vegas.

This is the first Super Bowl in the Nevada desert, made possible by the Raiders moving to town four years ago and the building of a brand new stadium.

To think that seven years ago there were no pro sports here in Vegas.

Now they have the 2023 Stanley Cup champion Golden Knights, the 2022 and 2023 WNBA champion Aces, an NFL team and soon a baseball team.

They also hosted the finals of the first ever NBA In-Season Tournament.

Surely it’s just a matter of time before they get an NBA franchise here as well and complete the set.

    Odds

The San Francisco 49ers are 1.5-point favorites tonight.

I have to be honest, most people I’ve spoken to are backing the Kansas City Chiefs to win.

A 1.5-point spread tells me that the sports books really don’t know on this one.

The over-under points total is 47.5 points.

What’s that? You want my prediction? I’d go Chiefs and the under.
