my fave greek history story to tell is that of agnodice. like she noticed that women were dying a lot during childbirth so she went to egypt to study medicine in alexandria and was really f*cking good but b/c it was illegal for women to be doctors in athens she had to pretend to be a man. and then the other doctors noticed that she was 10x better than them and accused her of seducing and sleeping with the women patients. like they brought her to court for this. and she just looked at them and these charges and stripped in front of everyone like“yeah. im not f*cking your wives” and then they got so mad that a woman was better at their jobs then them that they tried to execute her but all her patients came to court and were like“are you f*cking serious? she is the reason you have living children and a wife.” so they were shamed into changing the law and that is how women were given the right to practice medicine in athens

Yeah, this isn’t some Greek myth story about a hero or demigod or something,Agnodice was a real person who actually did this.

No they won’t because why would anyone eat a mouse that’s stupid not all men are bad and not all men are stupid you may have had a bad experience with a man but not all men are bad granted there bad men but instantly accusing all men as bad is immature I’m dating a man and he is nowhere near stupid and I know for a fact that he won’t eat a mouse and in pretty sure I could name at least five other men that won’t do something as immature as that and saying that a man will see a mouse and eat it won’t get you a anywhere with a man if anything it will drive them away.

the web probably thought to itself "great, now that the chosen one has reached adulthood, I can pass him off to this nearly-omniscient supervillain who has a vested interest in getting him all his marks, that's so much less work for me" and then elias would have plans like "hmm, I need to arrange an end mark, just killing him should work, right?" or "well, the coffin exists, so it'll probably turn up and he'll probably just throw himself in" or "I'm putting all my faith in jared hopworth's ability to correctly interpret and respond to my cryptic anonymous letters."

This is bat friendly street lighting, which not only looks sick as f*ck but allows bats to pass through without disturbance, as they cannot see red.

orange and especially white lights deter bats and prevent them from reaching feeding grounds at nighttime. Please if you can, write to your local council and encourage red street lights!!!!

ALSO! red light doesn’t f*ck up human night vision much so you can go in and out of lit areas without readjusting

i love how watching "villain" povs in the life series usually makes their actions seem justified. like, DL!Pearls POV shows that everything she did was the product of loneliness. LL!Joel's POV shows how his dreams fell apart. Gem and Scar's Secret Life POVs show how they tried their best to live their lives, but were driven by the Secret Keeper to break the peace. LL!BDubs's betrayals are a natural consequence of his uneavering faith in Etho.

and then you watch LimLife!Martyn's POV expecting the same sympathy and actually he looks like even more of an unjustified son of a bitch. hes so f*cked up. i love him

I think comparing 160 vs 200 brings out a lot of the differences in jonah's style of manipulation vs the web's style of manipulation. 160 is all about completely removing jon's agency, literally seizing control of his body and revealing that all these little coincidences were part of a master plan all along. jonah likes a big grand display of power, he wants everyone to know that he's the one in charge and he really needs to express that his agency is meaningful. 200 is all about engineering a situation where jon does all the legwork and chooses what the web wants, coercing him into sealing his own fate. there are plenty of discrete moments across the show where the web literally controls people, but mostly it works on a principle of just setting up game pieces in a way where it can predict every move the players will make.

tbh i think the funniest phenomena that's been happening in the last couple years is "youtuber, having gone too deep into the research hole, has been made an investigative journalist against their will"
